This role will be primarily focused on supporting strategic media planning and buying on behalf of California Milk Processor Board (CMPB), most recognizable for their ‘Got Milk’ campaign. In order to connect with the diverse demographic composition of California, this role will encompass a ‘total market’ approach, inclusive of General Market and Hispanic marketing initiatives. As a result, the role presents the opportunity to learn the nuances of multi-cultural planning and buying across traditional and digital media channels.


  • Assisting planning groups in evaluation of media proposals
  • Assisting planning groups in development of media recommendations
  • Generating competitive research and analytical reports for clients
  • Trafficking assets to appropriate parties to implement campaigns
  • Providing QA for clients throughout the duration of individual campaigns
  • Reporting results of completed media plans
  • Managing billing and invoicing process and resolving discrepancies
  • Tracking advertising placements
  • Coordinating client deliverables across internal and agency partner teams


The Digital AMD position is responsible for strategic and tactical development of online media planning and buying with the integration of all the agency’s services. The position supports the business through creative and innovative solutions to clients.


  • Operate as a senior client contact, leading strategic and tactical online planning activities.
  • Provide stimulus for innovative solutions to business and media issues.
  • Act as client advocate internally and the agency’s advocate to clients.
  • Work closely with PMG Strategy team providing input on recommended digital strategy and tactics
  • Set realistic client expectations and make every effort to exceed them, providing quality work in a timely manner.
  • Manage a staff of media professionals. Develop the staff through performance management and giving consistent feedback. Identify with staff, developmental opportunities and help them to work toward their professional goals.

Palisades Media Group is looking for an exceptional individual to take on the role of Assistant Media Strategist in our New York office.

As an Assistant Media Strategist you will learn the media process from the ground up! You will join a dynamic team of best-in-class talent and an environment that is both challenging and fun.

We are looking for someone that is excited to learn and apply themselves in a media landscape that is continually changing. We need someone that can bring order to chaos (#uberorganized) and is great at multitasking!

  • Support teams and processes for planning, buying and account management. The assistant strategist helps facilitate campaign execution and deliverables.
  • Assist strategy/account teams to ensure that project milestones, timelines, and deliverables are met
    • Schedule and participate in meetings
    • Follow up on projects
    • Take notes in meetings as necessary and send out information
  • Coordinate with vendors
    • Obtain information such as availability, specs and rates to evaluate potential media buys
    • Arm team leads with the information they need to make recommendations
  • Create and distribute insertion orders to vendors and internal teams upon plan approval
    • Use buying system (Strata)
    • Ensure appropriate approvals are obtained
    • Verify correct media is running
  • Respond to and gather all requested information from supervisor to facilitate media plan development
  • Work closely with team to coordinate and reconcile media billing across all platforms (print, TV, digital, radio, out-of-home)
    • Ensure correct media buys have been entered in the system
    • Resolve any discrepancies
  • Assist the media department with market research and insights by using various websites and media resources
  • Participate in team brainstorms
    • Take notes and coordinate with LA office to combine ideas into one document
  • Work across Google office suite
    • Update media flowcharts and change logs (Google sheets)
    • Update workflow and assist in getting larger team to update status docs (Google docs)
    • Assist with creation of strategy, recommendation and best practices decks (Google slides)
    • Set up client and team meetings (Google Meet)
  • Learn and understand basic media planning and buying principles
  • Enter time reports once a week, at a minimum
  • Handle other duties as assigned by direct supervisor

First and foremost, our Media Strategist knows media (and maybe even geeks out on it a bit)! This person is expected to have a firm grasp of the media planning process and has executed tactics across various types of media. We are looking for someone that can contribute and make a difference to a small but dynamic team (and an awesome client to boot!)

Our media strategist will help provide the insights and building blocks that help us form our media strategy. We also would love to find someone with innate killer instincts and savvy judgment to help make sound recommendations.

  • Dive into and learn your client’s business. Demonstrate a clear understanding of the immediate and long-term goals and clearly articulate those priorities to partners both internally and externally as required
    • Create planning specs/guidelines and deliver them to investment teams
    • Collaborate and coordinate efforts with Digital, TV, Audio, OOH and Traffic departments
    • Build strong working relationships with partner or specialist agencies (creative, PR, social, creative, field marketing, etc.)
  • Work with Supervisor to draft RFPs and generate ideas; Work with internal team and partners to refine ideas and proposals
  • Utilize both planning tools and other resources to form insights pertaining to audience behaviors that inform media recommendations
    • Media Tools such as: N-Power, Simmons, YouGov, AdIntel & Neilsen Impact
    • Additional resources could be white papers, articles, trend reports, conferences
  • Prepare or oversee client-facing deliverables such as media decks, flowcharts, weekly delivery/budgets and cumes
  • Manages directives to guide the execution process so it’s seamless
  • Coordinate timelines and deliverables for more complex integrated programs while communicating, monitoring and managing expectations with partner, internal and client teams
  • Manage or supervise the post campaign process through execution and billing
  • Manage and mentor an Assistant Strategist: Familiarize them with media basics including but not limited to billing, research, media math, vendor/client communication and end-to-end process
  • Track competitive brands, insights and trends through multiple touchpoints including reading trades, attending events, watching content
  • Actively participate and contribute in brainstorms both for both primary accounts and agency accounts (and love it!)
  • Present to clients and internal teams with enthusiasm and confidence
  • May negotiate directly or work closely with investment teams for specific partners
