Entry level career opportunity in Marketing / Advertising focusing on the curation, analysis and purchase of nationally distributed / commercially supported video content. The Assistant Media Buyer, Video is responsible for supporting the National Video Buying team across various clients within Palisades Media Group. This individual will assist in researching, developing, and maintaining media buys across all video channels including National Broadcast, Cable, and OTT while managing and tracking data and billing information.

Successful candidates should be organized, outgoing, inquisitive and comfortable with change. A heightened interest in all forms of commercially supported Broadcast, Cable and OTT programming is a must. Prior agency experience with media math, or an applicable academic parallel, a plus. Excellent written and verbal skills, and a high level of confidence with basic math, are imperative.


Media Schedule & Data Management - 60%

  • Assist with day-to-day account maintenance tasks inclusive of flowchart updating, billing issues, budget revisions, post-campaign analyses, and tracking pre/post log data entry
  • Track and input all makegoods on a regular basis to ensure buy is current
  • Track weekly/monthly estimated spends for National campaigns
  • Provide pacing reports for streaming video campaigns via DCM (DoubleClick Campaign Manager)
  • Input and update all scheduled buys in Strata
  • Work with traffic department to ensure networks are running appropriate creative
  • Request and compile media costs, competitive analysis, and send insertion orders/schedules to networks
  • Cultivate relationships with network sales team at both junior and senior levels
  • Complete post campaign reports and summaries
  • Have working knowledge of research tools (NPower, Nielsen Answers) to assist buyers when building media recommendations

Invoice Reconciliation - 20%

  • Work closely with billing department resolve monthly schedule and billing discrepancies
  • Track credits and issue credit memos

Training & Development - 20%

  • Arrange, attend, and participate in vendor and internal meetings, conferences, and team project activities
  • Develop and maintain knowledge and understanding of industry trends and new technologies that affect the buying discipline


Assist in planning and executing Search Engine Marketing (SEM) campaigns for clients within the Insurance and Retail industries. Develop and evolve standards to enhance how PMG leverages and executes Paid Search across the customer journey


  • Work with stakeholders to help strategize and execute Search Engine Marketing campaigns across the major search engines (Google, Bing, Amazon)
  • Proactively make campaign optimizations on an on-going basis
  • Create keyword lists and conduct ongoing keyword mining for new opportunities
  • Responsible for writing ad copy following industry best practices
  • Collect and analyze data to come up with valuable insights to be presented to clients
  • Audit landing pages used for Search Engine Marketing campaigns
  • Keep current on search engine marketing blogs
  • Other duties as needed


The Digital Media Planner is responsible for the development and day-to-day management of the media plan, including buy recommendations, execution details, and maintaining budgets. This position will work within the Insurance vertical.


  • Idea Development: Compile RFPs and work with publishers to develop media executions
  • Plan Development: Negotiate with publishers, compile plan specs, assign budget by publisher and placement strategy, and accurately finalize all client-facing documents
  • Create media executions that are best positioned to meet the objectives and strategies of the client’s business
  • Work with media analysts to develop campaign performance insights that inform ongoing optimization recommendations
  • Maintain strong, professional relationships with the publisher community
  • Proactively monitor category landscape and identify trends/partners for upcoming campaigns
  • Manage positions on lower level (Assistant Media Planner) while effectively ‘managing up’ to ensure communication and effective performance


The Media Planning (Strategy) Supervisor manages all day-to-day planning/client service activity.

Reporting to the Associate Media Director (AMD), the Strategy Supervisor provides media planning recommendations internally and directly to the client. The Strategy Supervisor also oversees preparation of media plans and other deliverables, and supervises media plan implementation. The ideal candidate will bring strong capabilities in the area of entertainment marketing and able to think creatively, continuously bringing new ideas to the table.


  • Creation of media plans strategically and efficiently in collaboration with the Associate Media Director.
  • Setting overall direction for program planning and negotiating strategies in collaboration with Associate Media Director.
  • Coordination and regular communication with teams in New York and Santa Monica
  • Initiation of creative and business building ideas
  • Oversee plan negotiations and media team activities
  • Maintain status reports to ensure efficient workflow in order to meet deadlines and write reports of key meetings
  • Actively participate in internal meetings with other departments, calling on agency resources to strengthen ideas
  • Building a comprehensive media knowledge base and synthesizing information into ideas
  • Supervision of Media Planners and Assistants, where applicable, including training and development as well as serving as a positive role model with a hard work ethic and vigorously reviewing all work to ensure high quality standard
  • Writing and delivering presentations
  • Maintaining regular local client contact
