The Strategy Supervisor (Awards) manages all day-to-day planning/client service activity.

Reporting to the Associate Media Director (AMD), the Awards Media Supervisor provides media planning recommendations internally and directly to the client. They also oversee preparation of media plans and other deliverables and supervise media plan implementation. The ideal candidate will bring strong capabilities in the area of entertainment and awards/FYC planning, be able to think creatively, and continuously bring new ideas to the table


  • Take ownership in setting overall direction for program planning and investment strategies
  • Lead awards team in creating media plans, strategically and efficiently
  • Develop client relationships
  • Establish and maintain good rapport with trade and industry partners
  • Manage Media Planners and Assistants, including training and development, but also serving as a positive role model with a hard work ethic
  • Coordinate/lead regular communication between NY & LA PMG offices and with clients
    • Maintain internal and external status reports to ensure an efficient workflow and allow the team to meet deadlines
    • Lead internal brainstorm/idea-building sessions
    • Actively participate in internal meetings with other departments, calling on agency resources to strengthen ideas
    • Develop strong POVs to present to client
  • Write strategy, ensure tactics ladder up, deliver client recommendations
    • Work with internal team members to plan cross-platform recommendations; ensure all media types are working in a cohesive manner
  • Oversee long-term projects that provide actionable insights for future planning
  • Evolve and refine existing processes and deliverables
  • Become an expert in the entertainment industry and awards landscape


  • 3-5+ years of experience in media; minimum 1 year at Supervisor level or 2 years a Senior Planner level
  • Entertainment client experience preferred
  • Passionate and curious about Awards campaigning across Films, Series and Documentaries; Previous experience working on Emmy or Academy campaigns ideal but not required
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with planning/buying/executing all media types, including print, TV, digital, OOH, radio
    • Particular emphasis on robust print planning/buying including both magazines and newspapers
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work successfully with teams, handling multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines under pressure
    • Can juggle both the day-to-day and longer term projects
    • Proactive self-starter; does not need to be told what to do and will be resourceful in order to find solutions to any challenge
  • Strong negotiating skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Strong relationship building skills which include maintaining positive client relationships
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • An agile, goal-oriented personality, driven to succeed and always up for a challenge
  • Proficient and comfortable working across the Google Suite (docs, sheets, slides, meet, etc)


  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a concentration in advertising, marketing, business administration, or communications
